Pink Baby Ballet Slipper

Hi!  LOOK!  LOOK!!!  My first baby slipper/bootie!  I just finished it except for the ribbon tie.  Just had to share with those that would understand the accomplishment of something new they learned how to do with a hook, some yarn, a pattern and patience.

Now to get another one to match, that'll be a challenge.  I actually was practicing since I don't even have anyone to give it to but was always fascinated by making shoes

If only we had a baby somewhere around here to model it for us!
Happy crocheting to you.

  1. That is so cute! It looks perfect. What kind of yarn did you use? Congrats on a great looking slipper :) I definitely can relate when it comes to trying new things. I am new to crocheting so everything I have been making is new.

Good luck with the second one! :)

  2. This is really cute. Look like it would be pretty easy. Thanks for stopping by. Nice to see that you made a Lizzie Cat bag too. I'm thinking I'm going to need to make another one soon.

  6. Hi! Thanks for all the crochet buddy love! I've only been crocheting for about 3 years and don't have allot of time to devote to it but I enjoy making new items and learning to follow patterns.

Mary, the yarn is Bernat Satin 100% acrylic worsted. The pattern called for a sport weight which would have made a smaller shoe. This satin yarn has a pretty sheen but it doesn't really give, ya know stretch. I got it for the granny blanket I'm making but would never use it to make a sweater or any article that requires some give in it. I might weave a pink elastic cord instead of ribbon thru the shoe with the tie at the front like a ballet shoe to help it stay on the baby's feet.

D.Carlen, an Aladdin slipper is such a cute idea. Boys seem to get gypped when it comes to stuff like this. When my son was little I made him cute things to wear since there was a lack of cute toddler clothes out there except for maybe Nordstrom$$$$. You all have a wonderful weekend!

  7. That's a cute one! I understand about trying to make new things. I made my first baby booties 4 months ago and only got the right matching pair on the 3rd try! Since then I haven't made any more booties. Good luck to you!
